After the meal I wanted to give Hector a kiss. The burger, fries, and shake that I had gave me goosies. 11/10

A group of five of us came here after visiting the Whitney biennial. We didn't feel like spending a lot, and this joint had barely anyone in it at 9:30 PM. We thought what the heck? Let's give it a try!
It looks like a classic New York diner. The menu is a carbon copy from every other diner. There's nothing special except the location in the heart of meat packing.
Their wine selection reminds me of what they used to serve on airplanes in the 90s. Is Zinfandel still a thing? The Gallo red wine I ordered was undrinkable.
Someone ordered a blueberry muffin, which arrived absurdly huge with blue specks. Did we really expect blueberries?
On the plus side, the apple pie ala mode was better than I expected. The apples tasted like apples.
I might be back for a BLT or an omelette or that apple pie. But I'll keep my expectations to a minimum. -

Ok. Was gonna give it a 2 but the 3 is because my friend food was great.
So their food isn't all bad. I'd just say don't order a steak sandwich. If you do ask for extra meat.
But you shouldn't order the steak sandwich if you really like sandwich's.
It was a weak excuse for a steak sandwich. I do t even know what type of meat they used. It was these thick fat slices of meat. Chop it up sir.
Then have the nerve to put them between 2 thick's pieces of bread and call it a Sandwich. It was soooo dry too.
I was appalled.
I returned it and asked for more meat and extra cheese to try to salvage the sandwich. It kinda worked.
Check my pics for the before and after (of me added more meat and cheese) which one looks like a proper sandwich to you? AND what kinda meat is that?
My friend had pancakes, eggs and bacon. That was good. Get that. -

Did I ever thought I was going to find a diner in lower Manhattan? No! Man was I excited! This place was EXACTLY what I was looking for after a long night out in NYC. My husband and I scoured the area around our hotel trying to find something to eat the next morning and we were craving our usual Long Island Diner cure and low and behold we find this place! The diner itself could easily be passed by, but I am so happy we didn't. The food was all excellent, the portions were huge, and the prices were EXTREMELY low for where you are, and it is right under the High Line!

Staying nearby, this was just the NY diner experience I needed. This is the no-frills anti meat packing district restaurant for the people.
It's kinda the you get what you pay for meal, and it'll never get on any guide books. It's not the place you want, but it's the place you need.
Every neighborhood needs a place like this. Just like this review.. short and simple.
